Botteganove, a new concept in ceramic mosaics

Botteganove is both a creative project and a laboratory where ancient artisan know-how meets contemporary aesthetic research. Nove, a small location in the Province of Vicenza, is known throughout the world for its artistic ceramics and until a few years ago was a hive of industry buzzing with workshops and small factories.
It was the desire to save what remained of traditional manufacturing that convinced us to stay local—among the clays, the moulds and the furnaces. The plasterwork items, decorated with iridescent materials and gold leaf or highlighted by the soft opacity of the porcelain are born from the evolution of ceramic mosaics, which we have reinterpreted along with our designers. Each piece is handmade and decorated, following traditional techniques, by artisans willing and able to dialogue with today’s design culture in order to give life to designs, which have both the uniqueness of works of art and a contemporary sense of beauty.

A contemporary tradition

The work of Botteganove is steeped in 400 years of tradition, an inheritance of shapes, processes and techniques that have their roots in the town of Nove. It was here in the 1960s that the Pegoraro family set up a workshop to produce classical ceramics.
In 2010, the arrival of Christian in the firm marked the first turning point. Then in 2015 under the direction of creative designer Cristina Celestino, the Botteganove brand was born. The following year came the breakthrough, when success at the Fuorisalone transformed our workshop into one of the up and coming names in contemporary design.
Today Botteganove is a solid, vibrant and innovative reality, still firmly rooted in the artisan tradition.
